Health and Nutrition Project Coordinator

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Project Coordinator will support the implementation of World Vision’s health and nutrition programmes in designated provinces of Afghanistan. Reporting to the Zonal Manager and working closely with the health sector lead, the coordinator will deliver community‑level activities, ensure alignment with MoPH agreements, and monitor service quality for women, children and other high‑risk groups.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present MoUs for new health and nutrition projects to the MoPH committee.
• Coordinate project scope of work with relevant government directorates, BPHS NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Implement project activities in the field through sub‑ordinates, ensuring adherence to the project plan.
• Collaborate with the health sector team to guarantee quality of services delivered to underserved communities.
• Communicate project locations to the Department of Public Health to avoid duplication of efforts.
• Mobilise and sensitise communities, establish relationships with local leaders and authorities.
• Deliver medical assistance, register complaints, maintain proper documentation and conduct follow‑ups with beneficiaries.

Required profile

• Experience working on health and nutrition projects in Afghanistan or similar contexts.
• Familiarity with Ministry of Public Health procedures and MoU processes.
• Ability to travel regularly to remote districts and work in hard‑to‑reach areas.
• Strong coordination and communication skills with government, NGOs and community leaders.
