Food Security and Agriculture Cluster (FSAC) NGO Co‑Chair

About the role

The FSAC NGO Co‑Chair strengthens inclusive, transparent, and accountable NGO engagement within the Afghanistan Food Security and Agriculture Cluster (FSAC). Hosted by World Vision Afghanistan, the role facilitates systematic consultation with national and international NGOs and represents collective NGO priorities in FSAC processes.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain regular information exchange with NGOs, coordination mechanisms, and FSAC members.
• Co‑chair national FSAC coordination meetings and contribute to seasonal food security assessments, IPC acute food insecurity analysis, joint assessments, and sectoral needs analysis.
• Support contingency and preparedness planning, seasonal prioritisation, strategy development, advocacy, and resource mobilisation.
• Promote strong coordination with UN agencies, humanitarian mechanisms, authorities, civil society, and other stakeholders.
• Represent the collective NGO constituency impartially while fulfilling duties as a World Vision Afghanistan employee.
• Report administratively to the Programme Development & Quality Director and work closely with the FSL Sector Lead.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in humanitarian coordination and food security or agriculture sectors.
• Ability to work impartially and represent a diverse NGO constituency.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for synthesising field evidence and operational constraints.
• Familiarity with Afghanistan’s humanitarian coordination landscape.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Seasonal Food Security Assessment (SFSA) processes.
• Understanding of IPC Acute Food Insecurity (AFI) analysis methodology.
