Supply Chain Assistant – Procurement & Logistics

About the role

The Supply Chain Assistant will support procurement, logistics, asset and warehouse management, fleet coordination and vendor management to ensure timely and compliant delivery of goods and services for IOM’s humanitarian operations in Afghanistan.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and consolidate procurement requisition forms, verify compliance with the Purchase Authorization Matrix and obtain missing information.
• Prepare tender documents, solicit bids, conduct bid analysis and share summaries with requesting units.
• Confirm terms with selected suppliers, issue purchase orders or contracts and coordinate required authorizations.
• Monitor open requisitions, follow up on deliveries, and coordinate receipt documentation with the receiving unit.
• Review vendor invoices, prepare payment requests and liaise with Finance for timely payments.
• Maintain physical and electronic procurement records and support periodic reporting.
• Conduct market surveys, evaluate new suppliers and monitor contractual agreements for renewal.
• Support asset and warehouse management, transportation coordination, vehicle logbooks and fuel monitoring.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field with at least two years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with four years of experience.
• Certification in Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
