Programme Associate – Fixed Term (G-6) – Kabul

About the role

The Programme Associate provides specialised programme and administrative support to the Deputy Representative (Programmes) in Kabul. Working closely with internal and external partners, the incumbent helps ensure UNICEF’s programmes are designed, implemented and monitored effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF programmes.
• Conduct data analysis and prepare regular programme reports.
• Track programme budgets, support financial monitoring and ensure compliance with organisational rules.
• Coordinate with internal units and external stakeholders to facilitate programme delivery.
• Anticipate operational needs, recommend actions and support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Afghan national, eligible for a Fixed‑Term Appointment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and discretion.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate across teams.
