Information Management Officer (Fixed‑Term) – Kabul

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Information Management Officer to support its dual humanitarian and basic human needs programming in Afghanistan. The role is based in Kabul and focuses on ensuring high‑quality data, systematic tracking of results, and effective reporting to guide program decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for information management within the Planning, Monitoring and Data unit.
• Develop and maintain systems for integrating humanitarian and development indicators.
• Ensure data quality, timely reporting, and alignment with UNICEF’s global frameworks.
• Produce analytical products and support the preparation of key reports such as the Humanitarian Response Plan, Situation Reports, and Results Assessment Module.
• Support field offices and implementing partners through capacity‑building and data‑related guidance.

Required profile

• Afghan national with a relevant university degree.
• Experience in information management, monitoring, or data analysis within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF’s programmatic and reporting requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and partners.
