Finance Coordinator - Partnership

About the role

The Finance Coordinator – Partnership will support the financial management of Save the Children’s partnerships in Afghanistan. Reporting to the Senior Manager Finance, the role acts as the primary liaison between the office and local, national and international partners, ensuring budgets are sound and financial reporting is accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the focal point for partner financial oversight, reviewing budgets at the proposal stage and participating in pre‑award due diligence.
• Analyse partner financial reports, provide guidance and training to strengthen partner capacity, and ensure expenditures are recorded in real time.
• Maintain up‑to‑date finance files with supporting documentation and follow monthly financial processes.
• Design, update and analyse the Risk‑Based Monitoring (RBM) tool for all partners, compiling status reports and planning finance support visits.
• Collaborate with budget holders to prepare and revise partner budgets, ensuring completeness and competitiveness.
• Support partners during external audits and follow up on auditors’ recommendations.
• Ensure timely completion of partner monitoring, capacity‑building activities, reporting, and escalation procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in partnership financial management, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian context.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance and financial regulations.
• Ability to work independently, travel within Afghanistan and engage with diverse stakeholders.
