Field Coordinator

About the role

Reporting to the Country Director, the Field Coordinator will support Action Against Hunger’s strategy in Afghanistan by overseeing field operations, ensuring integrated program delivery, and strengthening local partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of country strategy and program design.
• Coordinate field operations and integrated program implementation.
• Strengthen local partnerships, community engagement, and localization at field level.
• Manage the field team with technical support from heads of departments.
• Facilitate effective coordination and collaboration with the coordination team, including security and access management.

Required profile

• University degree in Humanitarian Action, International Relations, Development Studies or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a senior management role within humanitarian or development organisations.
• Proven experience in project management and operational planning.
• Strong managerial competencies: strategic planning, budget and resource management, security and access management, communication and facilitation.
• Negotiation, leadership, people‑management, coaching and team‑development skills.

What we offer

• 6‑month fixed‑term contract under French legislation.
• Monthly gross salary €2,597 – €2,968 (including 13th month) plus pension reimbursement for non‑French staff.
• Monthly net per‑diem and living allowance of €682.
• Country allowance of €450 and cold‑weather equipment reimbursement up to €380 per person per year.
• Annual salary increase of 6 % after each 12 months of continuous contract.
