Vocational Training Assistant

About the role

Norwegian Church Aid is seeking a motivated Vocational Training Assistant to support the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) programmes. You will work closely with project teams, beneficiaries, and local partners to ensure training meets community needs and humanitarian standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for developing training methodology, learning materials, manuals, modules, and curricula.
• Assist in conducting needs analyses and market assessments to identify in‑demand trades.
• Support beneficiary identification, verification, and selection according to project criteria.
• Develop work plans, monitor progress, and report challenges to the project coordinator.
• Build and maintain networks with local stakeholders to promote marketable skills.
• Research innovative learning practices and integrate technology into TVET programmes.
• Draft terms of reference and technical specifications for TVET start‑up kits.
• Guide apprentices, document lessons learned, and share best practices.
• Collaborate with M&E officer to improve curriculum quality and training delivery.
• Participate in community accountability workshops and uphold complaint response mechanisms and humanitarian standards.

Required profile

• Experience in vocational training, TVET, or related development projects.
• Strong analytical skills for needs assessments and market research.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners and communities.
• Commitment to humanitarian principles and quality standards.
