Economic Recovery Officer (SME) – Internal

About the role

The Economic Recovery Officer (SME) supports the Danish Refugee Council’s livelihood programmes by delivering high‑quality economic recovery and small‑business assistance to refugees and displaced persons. Reporting to the Livelihoods Team Leader, the officer coordinates with internal units and external partners to assess beneficiaries, develop business plans and facilitate market linkages.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and lead coordination meetings with stakeholders, community leaders and relevant partners.
• Conduct beneficiary assessment and verification according to SME criteria and SOPs.
• Prepare training manuals and deliver business‑development training to small‑business owners, including women‑ and men‑led enterprises.
• Support the Economic Recovery team in drafting viable business plans for beneficiaries.
• Carry out market assessments and provide recommendations for business grants in line with DRC and donor policies.
• Monitor and coach beneficiaries, identify challenges, and revise business plans as needed.
• Facilitate market linkage and information sharing for supported enterprises.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of SMEs and report progress and challenges to the Livelihoods PO/TL.
